How to Get Listed in the JAIMS Housing Registry

"Is your home located in Hawaii Kai or nearby surrounding areas?"
"Do you have an extra room?"
"Would you enjoy the company of a professional on a short-term basis as a host family?"

If so, consider being listed in the JAIMS Housing Registry - a database for students (Tenants) and host families (Landlords). Because JAIMS does not have on-campus housing facilities, it has compiled a database of families in Hawaii who wish to provide housing accommodations for a fee to JAIMS students.

Many of the students enrolled at JAIMS are from out-of-state and a significant number of them are from foreign countries. The GLIK (Global Leaders for Innovation and Knowledge) program is a six-week program usually held twice a year.

In addition, GCDP (Global Competency Development Program) is held at various times throughout the year. It is approximately one week in length, with a $75/night set rate. You must provide breakfast, dinner and daily transportation to/from JAIMS. The housing arrangements for this short-term program are managed by JAIMS.  ⇒View a sample Host Family Agreement

If you would like to know more about being listed in the JAIMS Housing Registry, please submit a Host Family Application Form. Any questions or concerns, please feel free to call us at (808) 396-7130 or email us at info@jaims.org. Mahalo for your interest in becoming a JAIMS host family!

About the JAIMS Housing Registry and Host Families

  • Housing Registry is restricted; students must use a user ID and password for access.
  • Families who wish to be entered into the housing database must meet certain requirements before their rental is listed in our database.
  • JAIMS does not guarantee the performance between the host family/landlord and the student/tenant, nor is JAIMS a party to the housing arrangements.
  • For programs several weeks or longer, arrangements between the student and the family are contracted directly between them as tenant and landlord.
  • Our students look forward to having a local experience in a family setting. This family-type housing arrangement is beneficial for both students and families who want to have cross-cultural interaction.
