Programs and Services for the Community

College-Prep Global Management Program (CGMP)


The CGMP was a three-week program focusing on providing high school students with college-level instruction, a simulated business environment, and the opportunity to meet with and learn from business executives. The program focused on challenging the students to utilize the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) Learner Profile through project study, seminars, workshops and corporate visits.

JAIMS Protege Program (JPP)


The JPP was a six-month mentoring program offered through JAIMS, and provided sophomore, junior and senior level undergraduates the opportunity to be paired with professionals who assisted them in developing professional, interpersonal and networking skills.

Japanese Business Culture Training


This is a short-term intensive seminar for cross-cultural awareness and training designed for American professionals doing business with Japanese organizations. This seminar aims to raise general cultural awareness and understanding while also developing practical business strategies for when cultural differences arise. It helps participants better understand the cultural mindset of their Japanese colleagues, or Japanese customers, suppliers, partners and investors.

Knowledge Café


The Knowledge Café was a series of lectures that offered a "taste" of the various insights and perspectives of featured business leaders who have transformed their organizations by effectively leveraging their knowledge. Those who attended the Knowledge Café learned best practices of business and knowledge management to enhance their own organizations and business operations. The Knowledge Café events featured commentary by Ikujiro Nonaka, former JAIMS president, who was selected by The Wall Street Journal Online as one of the 20 most influential business thinkers. Knowledge Café events were held in Honolulu and Tokyo.

Social Entrepreneurship & Accelerator Program


The Social Entrepreneurship and Accelerator Program was a joint collaboration between JAIMS and the University of Hawaii West Oahu. The semester-long program was designed to provide participants with fundamental skills and knowledge in starting a venture with an underlying social and cultural relevance and impact. In addition, the program was aimed to provide participants an understanding of the innovation culture in Hawaii.
