Schedule

Due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19, the schedule for the next GLIK program has not yet been determined. Once the information is finalized, it will be announced on the Fujisu-JAIMS Foundation website. We appreciate your understanding.

Courses*
Courses are held from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.  Time is also allotted throughout the week for group work and independent study. The following are examples of courses:

Incoming Students

Passport Requirements

You are required to have a passport that is valid for the duration of the program. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your period of stay in the United States.

M-1 Student Visa Information

The JAIMS Admissions Officer is responsible to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for non-immigrant students attending JAIMS in Honolulu, Hawaii. As a student with M-1 Student visa status, you must be in compliance with DHS regulations at all times. Persons in the U.S. on a tourist visa (B-2) or the visa waiver program (VWP)/ESTA participants are not permitted to study in a 6-week session on a full-time basis.

Before or at the time of registration, information regarding your visa will be collected. When you present Form I-20 at the U.S. port of entry, it will be returned to you for safekeeping with your important documents. The I-20 will also allow you to re-enter the U.S. with the appropriate signature on the first page of the form, a valid M-1 visa, and a valid passport. An admission number is assigned and is shown on Form I-94.

How to Apply for an M-1 Visa

There are several steps to apply for a visa. The order of these steps and how you complete them may vary by U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Please consult the instructions on the U.S. embassy or consulate website.
   1.  Get your Form I-20 issued by JAIMS
   2.  Submit Form DS-160 online
   3.  Pay the visa application fee
   4.  Pay the SEVIS I-901 fee
   5.  Schedule your interview
   6.  Compile your document file
   7.  Attend your visa interview
