Temporary Accommodations

 
JAIMS staff will make advance reservations at the OHANA Waikiki Malia (2200 Kuhio Avenue), the OHANA Waikiki West (2330 Kuhio Avenue), the Ocean Resort Hotel Waikiki (175 Paoakalani Avenue), the Queen Kapiolani Hotel (150 Kapahulu Avenue), Maile Sky Court (2058 Kuhio Avenue) or one of the Aqua Hotels & Resorts for students who need temporary accommodations when they arrive in Honolulu. The expense of temporary accommodations is the responsibility of the student. If you wish to stay at one of these hotels, you must advise JAIMS staff of the correct date of arrival so that reservations can be booked at the special discounted rate.


Typically, reservations are made for one week, unless requested otherwise. Upon check-in at the hotel, you may be asked for either a credit card imprint (e.g., Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover, JCB and Diner's Club), full payment in cash (a portion of which may be returned, pending check-out date), or cash payment on a daily basis (subject to an additional fee). If desired, you may check-out from the hotel earlier than the designated check-out date, but you must notify the hotel front desk. In general, check-in time is 3:00 pm and check-out time is 12:00 noon.


The OHANA Waikiki West, Waikiki Malia, Ocean Resort Hotel Waikiki, Queen Kapiolani Hotel, Maile Sky Court and selected hotels in the Aqua Hotels & Resorts group are recommended due to their location and reasonable room rates. Students, however, do not have to stay at these hotels and may make their own arrangements elsewhere. They should, however, notify JAIMS of their address on the Temporary Housing Reservation Form.
