Establish a Scholarship or Award

Another way to support JAIMS is through a large endowment to establish a scholarship or award at JAIMS.  Here are examples:

The Senator Francis A. Wong Leadership Award was established and funded through the generous donation of former Hawaii senator and former JAIMS trustee Francis A. Wong. In 2009, JAIMS received two contributions from the H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation to sustain the Award and continue Mr. Wong’s legacy.

This Award is presented to a JAIMS student in each program cohort. Recipients are selected on the basis of "promising entrepreneurial skills, high ethical standards, and a respect for ethical behavior as evidenced by demonstrative initiative and leadership qualities during his or her attendance as a student of JAIMS." The recipient receives a small cash award and has his or her name engraved on the Senator Francis A. Wong Leadership Award perpetual plaque, which is displayed at JAIMS.

Norman Weisman Fund
A $20,000 endowment from the Rotary Club of New York was given to JAIMS in 2003. One of its members, the late Norman Weissman, was a public relations professional. Mr. Weissman was fond of Japan so, upon his death, the Club asked JAIMS to perpetuate Mr. Weissman’s legacy by awarding a JEMBA student who does a PR, advertising, or marketing internship in Japan with a $2,000 scholarship.
