Provide Student Housing
How to Get Listed in the JAIMS Housing Registry
Is your home located in or near Hawaii Kai?
Do you have an extra room?
Would you enjoy the company of a graduate student on a short-term basis?
If so, consider being listed in the JAIMS Housing Registry -- a database for students (Tenants) and host families (Landlords).
Because JAIMS does not have on-campus housing facilities, it has compiled a database of families in Hawaii who wish to provide housing accommodations for a fee to JAIMS students.
JAIMS offers short-term management programs as well as an MBA program in cooperation with the University of Hawaii. Many of the students enrolled at JAIMS are from out-of-state and a significant number of them are from foreign countries. The MBA program is held year round. The East-West Knowledge Leaders Program with study option is held from March to July and from September to January. In addition, short-term seminars (approximately one week in length) are held at various times throughout the year.
If you are interested finding out more about being listed in the JAIMS Housing Registry, please call 395-2314 or email info@jaims.org.
About the JAIMS Housing Registry and Host Families
- The Housing Registry is restricted; students must use a user ID and password for access.
- Families who wish to be entered into the housing database must meet certain requirements before their rental is listed in our database.
- JAIMS does not guarantee the performance between the host family/landlord and the student/tenant, nor is JAIMS a party to the housing arrangements.
- For programs several weeks or longer, arrangements between the student and the family are contracted directly between them as tenant and landlord.
- Some students rent apartments or houses on their own through commercial arrangements. Other students look forward to having a local experience in a family setting. This family-type housing arrangement is beneficial for students and families who want to have intercultural interaction.
- JAIMS hopes that the intercultural experience will be a positive one for the host family/landlord and the student/tenant. We hope that when the JAIMS student leaves Hawaii he or she will be much enriched and will return to Hawaii many times over in the future for business and for pleasure..
