Intercultural Health Care Management Program

JAIMS offers the Intercultural Health Care Management Program (IHCMP) to educate your company's health care professionals about the American managed care system. JAIMS developed this innovative program together with Showa Pharmaceutical Group—now known as AZWELL Inc.—to bring together health care providers from Asia-Pacific countries with health care professionals and hospitals in the United States. Participants in IHCMP study, observe and learn how Western medical facilities manage numerous hospital functions, including new management techniques, processes for improving efficiency and effectiveness, and other details of the American managed care system. The program can be tailored to include:

  • Concepts taught by U.S. doctors and health care professionals
  • Site visits to leading health care facilities in Honolulu
  • Receptions with health care professionals
  • Professional language translators, program coordinators, and translated course materials

Customized Programs

Each IHCMP is planned for up to two weeks in length and is tailored to the needs and concerns of each group. Shorter or longer programs are available, however. The customized program of topics may include:

  • Introduction to the American Managed Care System
  • Trends and Issues in the U.S. and Japan Health Care Industry
  • Strategic Planning in Health Care

  • Ethics and Role of the Physician
  • Health Care Marketing
  • Insurance Trends - Evaluating Physicians
  • Information Management
