JAIMS
Welcomes New Students for Fall
HONOLULU — JAIMS
welcomed a host of new students this fall for its Japan-focused
MBA (JEMBA), China-focused MBA (CHEMBA), and Intercultural
Management Program (ICMP). The JEMBA and CHEMBA students were
first to arrive in August with a total of 30 students. ICMP
2003
fall
students
arrived in the beginning of September with a class of 26.
During their four months of study, the ICMP
students will be interacting with their MBA counterparts and
will be experiencing the holiday
season in the United States. For many, it will be the first time
experiencing Halloween and Thanksgiving. JAIMS will be holding
special social events for each holiday, including Christmas to
enrich the
ICMP cultural experience. This semester, the ICMP students come
from six different countries: Japan, Korea, the Philippines,
Thailand,
Singapore, and Vietnam.
The 2003-2004 JEMBA and CHEMBA student body
also boasts cultural diversity. Though most students hail from
the United States, others
come from Japan, Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan, and
China. For one year, the students will be studying business management
at
the University of Hawai‘i College of Business and intercultural
skills at JAIMS. Their academic studies will be topped-off
by a three-month internship in Japan or China. |
