Farewell
Luncheon for the 2002-2003 JEMBA and CHEMBA Class
HONOLULU — On Friday, July 25, the 2002-2003 Japan-focused
MBA (JEMBA) and China-focused MBA (CHEMBA) class celebrated their
completion of one year of studies at JAIMS and the University of
Hawai‘i at Manoa College of Business. The class of 20 JEMBA
and 10 CHEMBA students bid their farewells to staff, faculty, and
fellow classmates before departing on the internship portion of
their program.
Awards were presented to recognize the achievements
of exemplary students. The CHEMBA President’s Language
Award went to David Liao for his speech “China’s Emerging
Western-Style Bars and Their Roles in Business.” The JEMBA
President’s Language Award went to Erik
Okihara for “The History of ‘Mentaiko.’” Both
recipients have the honor of being commencement speaker at the
closing ceremonies in Tokyo.
Special recognition also went to the Foundation
for International Information Processing Education Scholarship
(FINIPED) recipients:
Andrew Huang, Brandon Matsui, Dawn Mizicko, and Keith Sakuda.
Dawn Mizicko was also recognized for receiving the Foreign Language
and Area Studies Fellowship (FLASF).
This year's class is the thirteenth JEMBA
class and the sixth CHEMBA class to complete their studies. |
