2003 Spring Class Closing Ceremony
HONOLULU — Twenty-four participants
in the Intercultural
Management Program (ICMP) 2003 Spring class celebrated
the completion of their studies at the ICMP closing ceremony
on July 23, 2003.
Guest speaker, David B. Erdman, president & CEO
of PacRim Marketing Group, Inc., congratulated the class and
offered some advice on their future careers.
"You've made a big mark in your life. You've
grown and expanded your knowledge by coming to JAIMS..." Erdman
said, "Now be sure to enjoy what you do... look
for something that meets your passion."
Participants were presented with certificates
for completing four months of intense studies on U.S. business principles
and cross-cultural sensitivity. Awards were also presented to those
participants who excelled in the final week of presentations.
First place for the President's Business Plan
Award went to the team of Robinson Siao and Teerarat Siriratanasak.
Second place went to Yoko Murakami and third
place went to Imkoo Kwak.

Research Awards went to Keiko Chida, Teerarat Siriratanasak,
and Masayoshi Yamazaki. Second place went to Masato Kudo, Imkoo
Kwak, Takayuki Muto, and Go Yoshida. Third place went to Hidechika
Fujita, Takahiro Kobashigawa, Makoto Kuroe, and Chisato Watanabe.
Robinson Siao was the recipient of two prestigious
awards: the Francis A. Wong Award for Leadership and
the Funika Scholarship.
The Students' Choice Award was awarded to Patrice
Torres who gave the student address and expressed his heartfelt
thanks to JAIMS' faculty, staff, and host families on behalf
of the entire class.
While some ICMP graduates will immediately
begin their careers, others will continue with JAIMS in the
Business Exchange
Program (BEP) where they will intern in the U.S. for two
months.
