Naoki Tanaka Speaks on the Future of Japan's Economy
HONOLULU On Tuesday,
June 12, 2001, Naoki Tanaka addressed JAIMS faculty, staff, and
students on the future of the Japanese economy in the 21st century.
Tanaka related his experiences with the Japanese economy of the
past, and how changes were being implemented in the current economy
to ensure Japan's future in the global market.
JAIMS was pleased to welcome Tanaka's economic expertise
in envisioning Japan's future. Naoki Tanaka, is one of Japan's foremost
economic analysts, and has served on a number of economic committees.
In 1994 he was a member of the Administrative Reform Committee and
in 1996 he chaired the Sub-committee for Appropriate Demarcation
of the Public and Private Sector Activities. Later in 1997, Tanaka
served as the President of the 21st Century Public Policy Institute.
Tanaka also has written widely on the subject of economic
reform. His works include: Grand vision of Japan (1990), A Vision
of Japanese Politics (1994), Japanese Economy after the Big Bang
(1997), Super Structure (1999), and The Market and Government (2000).
