JAIMS Welcomes New ICMP Spring 2001 Students
HONOLULU A welcome
reception was held on Monday, April 4th for the newest class of
Intercultural Management
Program (ICMP) participants. This year's spring 2001 class consists
of 29 students hailing from six different countries.
During the orientation, students introduced
themselves and met JAIMS staff. Later they were given a tour of
the campus.
On Wednesday, students were aided by staff in
an exciting scavenger hunt throughout the JAIMS campus in order
to become familiarized with student facilities, resources, and staff.
On Friday, special guest speaker Ku'uipo Kumukahi
spoke to students on Hawaiian history, culture, and traditions.
To help them to blend into local culture, Kumukahi taught the students
a few local expressions and how to "shaka".
This latest ICMP class consists of students
from Japan, Malaysia, Korea, France, Thailand, and China. They bring
with them a diverse mix of work experience from public relations
and marketing to systems engineering and telecommunications.
