Alumni Chapters Register in JAIMS Family Alumni
Association
HONOLULU — With
the registration of the first JAIMS alumni chapter, more chapters
are being formed and others are officially registering to become
part of the JAIMS Family Alumni Association (JFAA). "It is
the beginning of a network of chapters that will span the globe,"
said Glenn Miyataki, JAIMS president.
The first chapter, based in Japan and called
the AMP/ICMP Alumni Association, was formed by chapter leader Yoshikazu
Sekiguchi (AMP-3), associate professor at Soka University, with
vice leaders Isao Atsusaka (AMP-10), general affairs manager at
Varian Semiconductor Equipment K.K., and Masaki Hisamichi (AMP-36),
a senior consultant at Japan Research Institute, Ltd.
Another chapter that is very active and has
been meeting regularly for the past few years is the JAIMS Bond
chapter in Tokyo. Its president, John Cheuck (JEMBA-3), is currently
the president of Metrowerks Co., Ltd. (Japan) and was the recipient
of the Distinguished Alumni Award at JAIMS' 25th anniversary alumni
conference in 1997. The vice president of the chapter is Chris Lamatsch,
senior manager of global HR solutions at PricewaterhouseCoopers,
and the secretary is Larry Kieffer, director of consulting at Asia-Net
K.K.
Other alumni chapters include members in Hawaii,
Osaka, the Philippines, Indonesia (called Indo-JAIMS) and the Bay
Area in California. More chapters are forming and preparing to register
members.
