The JAIMS Family Forum

Interested in speaking to a fellow alumnus or current student at JAIMS via e-mail? If you are, join the JAIMS Family Forum. It's a forum to which JAIMS students, alumni, faculty, and staff can subscribe to communicate and network with each other. If you subscribe to this forum, you will be able to reach everyone on the list with a single message, and receive and respond to all messages sent by others. Currently the forum has about 1,200 subscribers, most of them current JAIMS students and alumni, and some staff and faculty.

The JAIMS Job Bulletin

If you are interested in posting or receiving new job opportunities tailored to JAIMS alumni and participants via e-mail, join the JAIMS Job Bulletin. It's a bulletin in which JAIMS students, alumni, faculty, and staff can share new job opportunities to help give our graduates an added advantage. If you subscribe to this bulletin, you will be able to reach everyone on the list with a single message, and receive and respond to all messages sent by others. Currently the bulletin has about 1,000 subscribers, most of them current JAIMS students and alumni, and some staff and faculty.

General Guidelines:

  • Unless the content will benefit all subscribers, please “reply directly to the individual posting the message instead of replying to the entire group bulletin.
  • Please try to summarize the subject when responding to a message so others can follow the thread.
  • Please ensure your message is appropriate and of interest to all subscribers.
  • Please do not send spam: "unsolicited email sent to many people for commercial or personal gain."
  • Please use caution about sending sensitive or confidential information.
  • Please be courteous and professional in your messages.
  • Please do not assume people are speaking for their organization or employer.
  • Please do not post information that may infringe on copyright laws.
  • Please do not send long attachments.

Subject Lines:
To help other members screen messages that may be on topics of interest to them, please use a short phrase in your subject line that describes the topic or topics included in your message.

Short Responses:
Please do not send one-line responses or other responses that do not add substantively to the discussion.

Long Responses:
If you are responding to a long message, it is best to cut out those parts of that message that are not relevant to your response.

Copyrighted Materials:
It is important to be aware of copyright issues on the Internet. Subscribers should not post copyrighted information to the bulletin (e.g., an extended excerpt from a research article). Please note that email messages, like written letters, are considered copyrighted by the author of the message. Therefore, it is inappropriate to forward another person's email message to the bulletin without permission from that person.

Signatures:
It is helpful and courteous to "sign" your message or to include your signature with every message.
